International Epee Fencing Competition with Prize Money

Objective of the competition

The aim of the Főnix Kupa is to create a new, international prize money competition series that not only recognizes performance but also provides a high-quality experience for competitors, their families, and coaches.

We believe that hard work, perseverance, and fair competition represent true value. The Főnix Kupa is therefore not just a competition, but a long-term initiative that seeks to develop the world of fencing competitions in a more professional, experience-focused, and sustainable direction.

Conditions for participation

The competition will be held in an open system.

Both Hungarian and foreign competitors may participate in the competition.

A national or international competition license is not required for participation.

Entry limit

A maximum of 128 competitors per category may participate in the competition.

Entries will be accepted in the order of their arrival.

In case of oversubscription, the organizers will make an individual decision regarding the possible expansion of the field.

Competition system

• 1 ranking pool round
• direct elimination table of 128 without cuts
• the best 8 competitors will form the final field
• the losers of the semi-finals will fence for third place in a bronze medal match

The organizers reserve the right to modify the competition system depending on the number of entries.

Equipment

The use of protective equipment approved by the EFC is mandatory for the competition.

Mandatory:

• mask
• underplastron
• fencing knickers
• plastron

FIE blade use is recommended.

Every competitor must place at least one functional spare weapon visibly at the end of the piste.

Entry

Entry fee:

100 EUR / competitor

Entries are only possible online, through the official website of the Főnix Kupa.

Entry becomes final upon receipt of the entry fee.

Entry deadline:

Entries are possible until the available spots are filled.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Prizes

The following prize money will be awarded in each event:

🥇 1st place – 1000 EUR

🥈 2nd place – 500 EUR

🥉 3rd place – 250 EUR

4th place – 150 EUR

5–8th place – 100 EUR each

Total prize money:

2400 EUR per event

The organizers reserve the right to award additional special prizes and sponsor donations.

Coach recognition

The coach of the winning competitor in each event will receive special recognition and prize money.

Details will be announced closer to the competition date.

Media

During the competition, photographs, videos, and other media recordings may be taken.

By submitting their entry, the participant agrees that the organizers may use the recordings taken during the competition for communication, marketing, and press purposes.

Final provisions

By participating in the competition, the competitor and their legal representative accept the provisions of this competition announcement.

The organizers reserve the right to modify the competition announcement.
